Working Hours: From 8:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, for a total of 40 hours per week
Payment: This is an unpaid position. We will provide you with room and board in exchange for your time.
Timeline: Internship starts in mid-May 2010. A 3-month minimum commitment is required.
EU citizens (EVS) preferred.
DESCRIPTION
BOCS Foundation (BOCS Alapítvány) is a small non-profit organization based in Székesfehérvár, Hungary. The foundation works at local, national and international levels on the connected issues of peace & church, justice, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, international development, overconsumption, overpopulation, poverty, and the environment.
BOCS is looking for a native English speaker to join our small staff of 7 people. The intern will be asked to perform a variety of different tasks related to the foundation’s English needs. As a result of the internship, the organization expects an improvement in the quality of their English educational materials, more efficient relationship management and meetings with international partners, an increase in the quantity of their English educational and web materials and publications, and improvement of their English knowledge. Key learning points that the intern might obtain during the internship: Unique knowledge about the global ecological crisis, practice in global training, cultivating international relationships with our partners, and experience with Hungarian cultural events and festivals.
Responsibilities:
The trainee has to deal with e-mails, skype conferences, and project management on a daily basis
You need to participate in and give assistance at meetings held with the international partners of the organization
Your need to translate documents, e-mails, articles, etc. into English, proofread and write English articles. You may also have to teach English.
Your task may also include web development or brochure editing from time to time.
Gaining knowledge about the foundation and transferring it to foreigners on festivals will also be one of your responsibilities.
You may also have to call for international tenders, whose monetary settlement is also your responsibility.

Other Conditions: The accommodation may be provided on-site at the foundation, or may be provided in a house outside of the city (public bus pass included). You will have your own room. The owners of the foundation live near to you, and all meals will be provided.
Qualifications:
Native English speaker
Currently enrolled student or EU citizen
Interest in global issues and ability to work on a variety of tasks
